After long time having to go through the embassy to travel to India, since August 2015 is it possible to apply for a tourist visa online and complete the process in a cheap and quick way.

You need to upload a photo (jpeg), a passport page (pdf) and pay around 60$ with a debit or credit card through the Bank of India secure platform. After about four working days you get the eTV in your email and that’s all! You can apply here: e-Tourist Visa

The type of visa is Single Entry for 30 days. These are the eligibility requirements:

1. The purpose of the visit must be tourism, recreation, casual visit to meet friends or casual business visit.
2. Passport with six months validity and two empty pages.
3. Return or following trip ticket and prove to have enough money for the stay in India.
4. Not available for diplomats, individuals endorsed by relatives or travelers under special circumstances.
